In early March, 17 nursing students took part in a series of social service activities, providing hands-on support to the community.
To address community needs, students rolled up their sleeves and took direct action. From cleaning public walkways and organizing shared bikes to wiping down and disinfecting public facilities, they tackled overlooked hygiene areas to create a safer, cleaner living space for residents.
The student volunteers stepped into the role of "mobile health aides" for the senior living alone. They delivered a package of basic care services, including blood pressure and blood glucose checks, establishing preliminary health records, and explanations for daily health management.
Students from the Class of 2023 brought health education to local seniors through a workshop. They employed scenario-based plays and interactive Q&As to cover essential topics such as chronic disease management and first aid. They also adapted traditional Chinese exercises into easy-to-follow movements.
