On the afternoon of October 10th, the opening ceremony of 2019 batch international students and the awarding ceremony of international students' scholarships were held in the second conference room of Zhengde building. School leaders Sun Tao, Niu Yang, He Zhongyi, Liu Zhihong and Xie Bo attended. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Professor Liu Zhihong.
    At the opening ceremony, President Sun Tao welcomed the class 2019 freshmen and introduced the basic situation of the school and the development of international education to the overseas students. President Sun Tao encouraged students to set new goals, learn self-discipline and management, learn real skills and cultivate a sense of responsibility, strive to grow into medical talents with solid knowledge, practical skills, lofty ideals and a global perspective, and play a role as a link for exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries around the world.
    On behalf of Professor Wang Hao, the teacher encouraged the students to set up goals, study hard, make progress actively, learn more medical knowledge and skills, and strive for the realization of their dreams. As a representative of the old students, nizanne, a 2015 international student, shared his learning life and feelings in the school, and encouraged the new students to study hard and ask questions, so as to adapt to the learning and life in China as soon as possible. Lofek, a 2019 international student, spoke on behalf of the freshmen.
    Niu Yang, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the University, read out the decision of Ningxia Medical University on Commending undergraduates studying in China in 2018-2019 academic year, and the leaders at the meeting presented awards to the students who won the scholarship for undergraduates studying in China in 2018-2019 academic year.
    Han Xiaobao, vice president of International Education College, led all students to take oath of medical students.
    This year, a total of 61 international students from 9 countries and regions have entered our school. At present, there are 338 international students in various types and 25 countries of origin.
